Acupuncture When Your Stuck

February 7th, 2012

Acupuncture has been used for over 2000 years and as alternative or complimentary medical modalities go it has a substantial amount of research behind it.  If you are experiencing pain chronic or acute and/or can’t seem to get unstuck in a particular area of you life consider acupuncture.  In conjunction with dietary changes and life style modifications it just might be an answer you’ve been waiting for.

Good Guts

January 27th, 2012

It seems to be a recurring theme for me these days, bad “guts”. A few weeks ago just about every second person came in with diarrhea or bloating or heart burn. The term Dyspepsia is a catch all that describes chronic recurrent discomfort concentrated in the upper abdomen. It’s usually associated with some bowel disturbances (like constipation and/or diarreah), as well as the bloating and dicomfort. If you are a person who has upper abdominal discomfort and no known or diagnosed Gastrointestinal disease or cardiac issues, consider that it could be something as simple as a food sensitivity, a low acid production (contrary to what you might be thinking) or a low grade Hpylori infection. A few simple tests (live blood analysis, a complete blood count and a pH saliva/urinary test) could provide all the information we need to get you on the road to having “Good Guts”.

January Jump Start

January 17th, 2012

I didn’t really think about a New Years Resolution until this very moment as I was updating my info on the dmg blog.  It occurred to me that it ought to be to actually start  blogging on this blog!  So I’d like to begin this January 2012, noteably late I understand, with a note about Detoxification and how it can help with improving your immune system as well as weight loss.

We think of the January Detoxification Program as a means to weight loss but the fact is, detoxification can act as a rejuvenation to many of your bodily functions not the least of which is immunity.

Consider that Vitamin D3 metabolism/activation for example, which occurs in the liver depends on an optimally functioning liver.  Vitamin D is an important regulator of viral infections…something to think about when you’re JUMP STARTING YOUR JANUARY with a detoxification program.

Cosmetics The Naturopathic Way

July 19th, 2011

For those of you who are thinking about looking and feeling beautiful consider mesotherapy injections.  I am loving the results people are having.  The cosmetic enhancements include cellulite reduction, reduction of lines and wrinkles, skin texture & colour improvement and an overall sense of well being.  The usual course of treatment is approximately 10-15 sessions.

Meostherapy is an injection therapy using tiny needles to inject medicine (homeopathics, vitamins, minerals amino acids and conventional medicines) directly into the skin.

Since having Wyatt (my 1year old), I developed cellulite in my lower abdomen.  I was ill with this pregnacy and gained 65lbs:(  Neeless to say, reaching my pre-pregancy weight, my body didn’t look  the same.  I started the mesotherapy for skin rejeneration/cellulite 2 months ago and in the last 2 weeks several people have commented on the HUGE difference it has made (being bathing suit weather and all).  Looking great is all about feeling great too.

Spring Detoxing Helps!

March 9th, 2011

The first day of spring has come and gone but the couple of months we need to get through before summer have not!

With the sunny days and the melting snow comes a desire to get outside, get some fresh air and work on some of those clean up projects that are peaking out from the melting blanket of snow. I know because I’m feeling it too!  Now is the perfect time to do your internal clean up also…and get yourself ready for the summer ahead.  We are using the Bitotics 3-Step Bio-Detoxification.  It’s a 10 day detoxification made to optimize energy and rid the body of toxins!

Did you know that according to the FDA, an average American eats about 142 lbs of additives a year?  YIKES!
